I have a suggestion to make the devourer into a charmable animal, this could be done fairly simply as devourers are used as pets by the charr in the BMP.

the best method i have thought of for obtaining this egg would be similar to that of the moss spider e.g. taking a devourer egg and giving it to Emryd the tamer in the zaishen menagerie.

As for a way of obtaining the egg, so that people who don't want to make a new character can get one, could be a quest given by old mac who has a devourer pet himself. Or the egg could be obtained from the gifts if the treveller

Might be interesting to have a charmable animal with ranged attacks... but aren't those eggs only available in pre-searing?

srry but u wont get ur wish m8, ANet already said there's enough pets in the game 'technically' they can't add anymore. this was said when people asked 'why isn't the xmas moa in eye of the north charmable'.

Yes, all pets created with level 12..20 in the menagerie are just copycats, and slightly different, so the Tamer won't pay for them. So is the case that they even were considered different pets by the HoM and didn't count to be added to it until the fixed the bug so the original and the copycat pets are both valid for the unlock.

And in this case, it's NOT adding. The devourers are charmable animals in the BMP and the quest "Charr-broiled Plans" ARE animals, not devourers that accompany charr as as pets like Joe with Mac or Carlotta with Shadow.

Next wintersday, try it. Bring charm animal and target one of them, you'll get the "Pet already charmed" warning.

Hm...

Core has the two spiders.
Factions has Black Moas and Phoenixes.
Eye have Jingle Bears, Rainbow Phoenixes and White Moas.

That leaves out Prophecies and Nightfall without prestige animals.

There are no devourers in Nightfall, so what is left is Prophecies.

That charmable animal should be a prestige animal in Prophecies...
Hm... maybe by bringing a Devourer egg and talking to Old Mac in Droknar's Forge (explorable area), the Prophecies endgame.
Old Mac tells you how to breed the egg, then you go to the Menagerie and give it to them to breed.
